Hose Spigot Burts

Turning your hose spigots on for the first time of the year !

Be careful when turning your outdoor hose spigots on for the first time of the year. An extremely common problem is a portion of the pipe freezes during the winterization part of the process. If your hose spigot has a isolated shut off valve inside it is important to close it before the winter season.

If the isolated valve is closed and not all of the water is drained out of the rest of the pipe from the valve to the spigot a freeze and burst can occur. It is highly recommended to turn these isolated valves on slowly when the winter season ends and be on the look out for potential leaks.
